Hayden’s Garden

Hayden’s Garden Is Breaking Ground!!

Hayden Solomons was the most amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His biggest goal in life was to take care of other people. He was happiest when he was helping others. Everyone that knew him, describes him the same way: he was kind, loyal, compassionate, generous, loving, funny and the life of every party. When we lost Hayden, it was like the rug was ripped out from under our feet and we have been trying to find our way ever since. We lost someone who was like no other.

From an early age, he instilled in his children the importance of helping those who were less fortunate. Hayden was always looking for new ways he could help out his community. For some time, he dreamt about growing a garden of vegetables that would be donated to shelters and to those in need.

This dream of his sparked an idea from his dear friend and member of Beth Torah – Gerry Gotfrit. A living-giving garden known as an urban garden that exemplifies Hayden’s desire to help his community is one way that we can honour Hayden and carry on his legacy of helping those in need. The idea that we can have this gorgeous garden at our shul, to be able to help those in need is something that we know Hayden would be extremely proud of.

We have had extremely generous donors to start this, and our family is forever grateful. We look forward to honouring and memorializing other loved ones within the Beth Torah community through future donations. This can be sponsoring a planter or a bench. We can come up with numerous things to do to keep this vision of Hayden’s memory. We can have planting parties, and activities for members to come out and help. We want as many people involved as possible. We would like to thank Beth Torah and everyone who has had a hand in this to help remember our amazing Hayden.

With so much love, Robyn, Max and Halle Solomons
